Chamda
India is rich in heritage and culture along with a plethora of crafts spread across all directions of the country. One such craft is Kolhapuri Chappal making from the state of Maharashtra.
Leather is made from a skin of an animal by tanning and similar processes. These chappals (open toed sandals) are made of traditional leather in the village of Kolhapur, Maharashtra. Chamda means skin in Marathi, the native language of Maharashtra.
The Chamda collection will focus on the intricacies and visuals of the stated craft to develop prints. The intention is to showcase the Maharashtrian craft and give it a platform.
