Miray

Work for Label Reyya based in Jaipur, India

The focus was on developing a complete range of womenswear for the Indian and international markets for the SS ‘23 season.

This collection was inspired by the Romani culture and Moroccan architecture and drew on Moroccan art, Bohemian lifestyle and geometric motifs to showcase an amalgamation of prints, embroidery and Romani silhouettes.

The Concept

The beauty of the Moon became a source of fascination, inspired curiosity and gave birth to a plethora of cultural traditions in the Romanis.

The moon plays a very important role in the Romani culture.

MIRAY means 'shining like the moon' in Arabic.

This collection sets the mood, breaking the barriers of being stagnant, focusing on the bohemian lifestyle. Switching between fabrics, creative block prints and silhouettes as protagonists through a collage of embroideries, prints and textures.

It is an amalgamation of earthy colours, handcrafted block prints and embellishments bringing adventure and the boho culture to life.
